Through the WINLab accelerator network, I came to learn about a local non-profit called Code/Art. Their mission is to influence young girls into learning computer science. It is a really great program, and this year they were able to go national.
The submissions I evaluate are within the 3D print group. I judge the 3D drawing for complexity and creativity, and relevance to the theme. I'm blown away by the talent that is out there, especially in the middle school groups. This year a few girls drew Miami landmarks like Ocean Drive and Vizcaya.
It's an honor to participate in the judging and provide a little inspiration to pursue tech careers.
